LEGAL & GENERAL
A complete revamp of Legal & General’s digital offering, from top to bottom

MORE THAN A MAKEOVER
Legal & General assembled a tight group of CX designers to form teams based between Hove and London. We were to take all L&G product sites, redesign them, and find a way for a customer to move between products without constantly going back to the Home page, which was the current method of navigation. It was a mammoth task.

PORTFOLIO SUMMARY PAGE
Our remit, first and foremost, was to find a way to amalgamate all products that a customer may have onto one page where they could service them. With a multitude of products, and currently no way to easily navigate between them, this was our biggest task.
Each product was managed by a separate team, with their parts of the L&G universe built and maintained by several different teams, and sometimes external agencies and developers. This process and structure was a challenge in itself.
The new landing page was to become the Portfolio Summary Page (PSP).

AN EYE ON THE HORIZON
We created a tool for our customers to better plan for their retirement. Simple to use, this was hugely popular upon launch.

SYNDICATION
Over twenty large companies trust L&G to manage the pensions for their employees, including RBS, the Guardian, Sainsbury’s, Barclays and John Lewis.
These sites were built and maintained by a company in India. We gave them a comprehensive toolkit to build the same site design for each brand.

CONSISTENCY
Each brand therefore replicated the L&G user experience for their customers.

FULL SET
An icon was created for every possible interface need.

ICON
London agency Superunion had been working on the L&G rebrand for a year. They supplied us with various brand illustrations. From these we followed the set styling and created a family of brand icons.

INTERACTION DESIGN
We had to think of everything, and design it from scratch. The Design System incorporated every button state and interaction animation we could think of.

FUTURE PROOF
We built a Design System to be shared between all internal and external teams working on L&G’s digital products.
The eventual intention is for this system to be made open source.
